Edmonton held a successful event on October 1 with 45 people in attendance despite poor weather. The Seniors Voice flag was raised at City Hall from September 30 to October 3.

Andrew Knack, City of Edmonton Councillor bringing Mayor Iveson's Declaration
Lori Sigurdson, MLA Edmonton Riverview, Minister of Seniors and Housing
Noel Somerville, Chairman Seniors' Task Force, Public Interest Alberta
Among those in attendance were Trevor Zimmerman from Friends of Medicare and Bruce Fafard, President of the Edmonton District Labour Council.
The event was organized by Dave and Paulette Hagel (Paulette was Chair), Judy Lederer, Lucien Royer, Winston Gereluk and Tamara Kozlowska. Breezy Brian Gregg played guitar. The Raging Grannies lent their voices to the event. There was a table with coffee, hot chocolate and mini chocolate bars. Friends of Medicare provided a petition to keep blood plasma donations a voluntary, public program.
